What is Erythema Chronicum Migrans (Lyme Early)?

Erythema chronicum migrans is the first step of lyme disease. It is the stage during illness period between hours to weeks the outer skin of the patient get infected and leads to develope circles of unraised redness. It usually occurs at the place of infecting tick bite and is about 4 to 20 inche in size. It primarily affects on inguina, axilla, behind the knee. It also defines as the classical immune-mediated skin injury which is red in color and round in shape. The rash is hot to touch and after some time period there may be change in color and appearence of rash. This stage is linked with systemic symptoms like fever, headache, vomiting, chills, nauseaetc etc.Very few ie. less than 1% of tick bites turns to lyme early disease.

Causes of Erythema Chronicum Migrans (Lyme Early)

  • This is the cause of tiny injury to the skin.
  • Ixodes tick passing on the germ is the starting of the lyme early disease.

What are the symptoms of Erythema Chronicum Migrans (Lyme Early)?

  • Here also generation of rash take place which is red in color.
  • There may be possibility of other heart diseases like irregular heartbeats, heart block.
  • In some patients there may also other types of problems such as joint pain, muscles, bones, headache, neck stiffness, facial palsy etc. may occurs.
  • Lame early commonly attacks on inguina, axilla, behind the knee.
  • It also related with carditis, neurological disease & arthritis.

Erythema Chronicum Migrans (Lyme Early) Treatment

  • Antibiotics like intravenous is useful in the treatment.
  • In some cases there may be use of tetracycline drugs against tics infections.
  • Vaccine is available for erythema chronicum migrans.
  • Antibacterial therapy is essential in some patients.
  • Oral antibiotic treatment is also workful in some cases which includes antibiotics like doxycycline, ceftriaxone.
  • Some penicillins like amoxicillin, erythromycin, penicillin v are also useful in the treatment of erythema chronicum migrans.
