Cryoglobulinemia Mixed- Symptoms, Causes, Treatment and Home Remedies

What is Cryoglobulinemia Mixed?

Cryoglobulinemia Mixed is a long lasting, abnormal immune system disease caused due to proteins called cryoglobulins present in the blood and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. It is a combination of an autoimmune disease and a lymphoproliferative disease. It affects the organs such as spleen, skin vasculitis, nerves, kidney, abdomen, liver, and heart.

It can lead to other diseases such as dermatomyositis, multiple myeloma, or lymphoma.

Cryoglobulinemia is of three types : simple type I cryoglobulinemia, types II and III cryoglobulinemia (mixed cryoglobulinemia).

It mostly occurs in the age between 42-52 years and female-to-male ratio is 3:1.

Causes of Cryoglobulinemia Mixed

Patients with cryoglobulinemia may have intravascular cryoglobulin deposits, a reduced level of complement. The cause of cryoglobulinemia is not known, but there is an association with certain diseases, as well as the hepatitis C virus. Hyperviscosity is typically associated with CG due to hematological malignancies and monoclonal immunoglobulins

What are the symptoms of Cryoglobulinemia Mixed?

Most people with cryoglobulins have no symptoms other than elevated levels on lab tests.

  • General weakness
  • fatigue

Cryoglobulinemia Mixed Treatment

  • Primary treatment is to prescribe the nonsteroid, antiinflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen, aspirin etc.
