Most Important Rosacea Stage - Telangiectasias
Weak blood vessels manifest early in rosacea
Telangiectasia involves widened or broken blood vessels that are just under the skin. It is this stage that is most critical as disease issues need to be addressed. The skin can be predisposed towards dilating blood vessels that manifests in youth by flushing. They can occur with every type of skin. The skin that is at a high risk of problems in this area is the thin and delicate skin. Broken blood vessels are called spider veins. These changes are quite common and affect mostly women through estrogen that relaxes blood vessels in musles leading to their expansion.
Specific care to strengthen blood vessels is necessary
Skin with dilated blood vessels needs a specific care that involves strengthening and sealing blood vessels, dealing with inflammation, cooling and relieving any irritation. Cosmetics used should be changed unless they are hypoallergenic. Those that have active ingredients should be eliminated. Your faces should be washed with gentle cleansers that are designed for sensitive skin. Peelings should be avoided and creams should be used regularly along with sunscreens. Creams that contain vitamin C and E should be applied. Such creams can reduce inflammation while helping to preserve the normal structure of blood vessels that also increases circulation. Also vitamin K reduces bruising while horse chestnut or parsley can sooth irritation.
Inflammation and telengiactasia
The first symptom is permanent redness that can occur due to radiation and changing temperatures. When blood vessels are damaged they leak and lead to edema. Also fluid cannot be released causing damage to elastin fibres. Inflammation leads to telengiectasia and if untreated to rosacea.
Locating telengiectasia
Teleangiectasias may be located in various part of the body, such as thighs in form of lines, they may spread and radiate to the sides or they may be nodular scattered unevenly.
Vascular diseases and internal organs
Congenital diseases of the skin and internal organs are also another direct cause of telengiectasia while secondary causes are due to chemical substances, such as drugs, tanning, and other skin disorders. At first skin redness and spider veins emerge but this condition is at first only temporary, and if there is no treatment to deal with this condition vessels dilate permanently creating red surface skin. Their number can be large and cause so called teleangiestatic erythema.
Identifying and avoiding all triggers
All factors that dilate blood vessels need to avoided. They include hot baths, chlorinated water, sunlight, frost, windy conditions, hot drinks, stress, as well as medications that lower cholesterol.
Treatment options
Teleangiectasia is treated through injecting a fluid into the veins obliterating them. This method does not involve operation. Traces of blood are removed when vessels break and they close. Laser treatments can close blood vessels. There are various methods to close blood vessels and they depend on the extent of changes that occured as well as their location.
Cosmetic treatments and care
Other cosmetic treatmens can seal blood vessel walls and improve elasticity. Vitamins C, B2 and PP and antihistamine medications can strengthen blood vessels. Some extracts from gingko biloba and sage infusions can provide relief.
