- Infection-The risk of infection is less than 1% and antibiotics reduce this risk dramatically.
- Dry eye problems, bleeding, blindness
- Nerve damage- Nerve damage occur from surgery or simply from the injection of anesthesia.
- Scarring- It is most cimmon risk in this surgery and is closely related to wound healing ability and suture reactions.
- Slow Healing: due to age, skin type, failure to follow doctor's advice or factors beyond anyone's control.
- Aspiration occurs if you vomit (aspirate) during surgery and the vomit is forced into the lungs.
- Drop in Blood Pressure: Some decrease in blood pressure is normal during surgery.
- Depression after surgery - The main reason are unrealistic expectations. Another is swellings, bruising's and discolorations.
- Social impact
- Temporary paralysis: This occurs if muscle relaxants have not fully worn off after surgery.
- Seroma: fluid can collect under the skin and can occur after breast augmentation, liposuction or a tummy tuck.
