Nail masks

Nail masks fall into the "nail-care extra" category. While not necessary, they are an effective way to draw moisture to dry, parched, peeling nails, and to soften stubborn cuticles. Not all cosmetic companies make nail masks, but there is a lot of variety on the market. A nail mask can be done immediately before a manicure.

Nail Mask tip: Use a sharp pair of nail clippers so that you can achieve good, clean cuts - a dull pair of clippers can tear nails instead of cutting them.

Masking at Home

Fortunately, you can create an easy nail-mask treatment at home by warming up a little olive or almond oil, and then massaging it onto your clean nails. Allow it to sit for at least an hour. If you do this before bedtime, why not go a step further and cover your hands and feet with your favorite cream, put a pair of clean socks on your feet and cotton gloves on your hands? When you wake up the next morning, remove the socks and gloves - you'll be amazed at how youthful your hands and feet look.
