Eye shadow,eye liner and mascara are the popular cosmetics of choice. Hence obviously the brushes used for application of these cosmetics have great importance in cosmetic industry.

Depending upon the application of shadow and liner, the right eye make-up brush can be selected.

Eye brush types and their uses

Smudge brush :- Smudge brushes are flat and contain short hair. They can be seen in rounded shape. Brushes give rich and smoky appearance to the eye. They define the eye and add depth to the eyelid.

Angle brush :- These are made of slanted hair and used to define the lash line, the brows and the crease. The trimmed shape of angle brush allows to reach the brush in the corners of eyelid and around the lashes.

Eye shadow brush :- It is a basic type of brush required for eye make-up. It is made of slightly angled and tapered hair. Eye shadow brush is used to apply right amount of eye-shadow with greater efficiency. It comes in variety of sizes and types. Eye liner brush :- Users regularly use eye liner brush to ensure precise an d and clean application. It is tapered and slim in shape. Muscara brush :- Muscara brushes comes in many categories i. e. different shapes and sizes. Some brushes are disposable but others are reusable and should be washed after each application.

Choice of eye make-up brushes

If you want to apply stronger, use a brush with shorter and more dense bristles.

For light application, longer bristles are useful. Longer bristles move more freely against the eyelid.

Tips for eye make-up

  1. Apply a medium or dark shadow color to line or define your eyes.
  2. Medium-toned shade should be used to cover the lower lids.
  3. Use a cosmetic puff and a little pressed powder to avoid heavy shadow.
  4. Wet the eye shadow for greater versatility in color.
  5. Be careful when blending eye shadow.
