Homemade Toothpaste Recipes and Tips - Dental Care
Equal parts Real Salt (Redmond Utah) and baking soda made into a paste using 3% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide. I have been using this formula for approx. the last three months and it seems to be shrinking the pockets around my teeth. I will know this for sure next month when I allow the dentist to probe depths.
Toothpaste Recipe using peppermint oil
Ingredients:
1/4 tsp peppermint oil
1/4 tsp spearmint
1/4 cup arrowroot
1/4 cup powdered orrisroot
1/4 cup water
1 tsp ground sage
Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl. Add water until paste is desired thickness / consistency. Store at room temperature in a tightly covered jar.
Substitute 1/2 tsp each of oil of cinnamon and oil of cloves for peppermint/spearmint if desired. This best homemade toothpaste will kills the germs.
Mint Toothpaste Receipe
6 teaspoons baking soda
1/3 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons glycerin
15 drops peppermint or wintergreen extract
Directions: Mix thoroughly. Should be a tooth paste consistency. Store in a container. Traditional natural remedy will give fresh your mouth feels.
Toothpaste for Sensitive Teeth
Vegetable Glycerin, 1/2 cup [base]
Cosmetic clay, white, 1/2 cup [mild abrasive]
Tincture of myrrh, 35-40 drops [gum inflammation]
Peppermint or Spearmint or Pudinhara, 7-8 drops [fresh breath]
Clove essential oil, 7-8 drips [mild anesthetic, for toothache]
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Adjust the quantity of glycerine to get toothpaste consistency. Store in a wide mouth bottle. This is very effective for sensitive teeth.
Homemade toothpaste
3 tbs baking soda (bi-carb soda)
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbs glycerine
20-30 drops peppermint extract or essential oil
stevia extract to taste (optional)
Mix the bi carb soda and salt thoroughly, then add the glycerine to form a paste. Add the peppermint and stevia sweetener if using and combine well. Store in an airtight container (I have an old, small squeezy bottle like you get conditioner in). Good home remedy provide relief from teeth problems.
Lemony Tooth Whitener
Airtight container
Toothbrush
4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. flavoring (vanilla, almond, cinnamon or peppermint extract)
1 tsp. water
Mix the baking soda and about 1/2 of the water until it is the consistency of toothpaste.
Stir in salt.
Add a few drops of the extract of your choice and mix. Add a little more water if too thick.

Homemade Vanilla & Rose Geranium Toothpaste: 1/2 ounce powdered chalk, 3 ounces powdered orris root,4 teaspoons of tincture of vanilla, 15 drops oil of rose geranium,Honey, enough to make a paste. Combine all ingredients and mix until you have a paste the consistency you like. Store in an airtight container. Use a clean stick (popsicle) to scoop paste onto brush. Store the stick in same container.
Citrus tooth powder
1 tbsp dried lemon or orange peel
6 tsp baking soda
1 tsp sea salt
Place peel in food processor, grind until it becomes a fine powder. Add baking soda and salt, then process for a few seconds more until you have a fine powder. Store in an airtight jar.
