Mouthwashes Home Remedy

Mouth wash is a more effective method of dental hygiene

Our mouth should receive a sufficient care that is not limited simply to brushing your teeth. Thorough brushing your teeth and dental floss does not protect entirely from carries and some bacteria frequently remains between our teeth. When we rinse our mouth we can clean it entirely.  Rinsing our mouth also helps to restore an adequate pH level in our mouth. In this way we can deal and prevent afflictions such as bad breath.

Homemade rinsing methods

Homemade methods of rinsing our mouth involves mainly various herbal infusions, such as chamomile or sage. They can also be made from antiseptic properties that kill germs. Some mouthwashes can have herbs and spices. Some most common herbal mouthwashes include mint mixed with hot water. Homemade mouthwash can remove plaque and tartar. They are mostly safer than mouthwashes bought over the counter while products such as baking soda or glycerin are effective in whitening teeth.

Benefits and disadvantages of alcohol in mouthwash

Alcohol can be used as mouthwash when one spoon is combined with one cup of water and a couple of drops of peppermint or other essential oil.  Alcohol, however, may not be the most beneficial for treating gum disease. It can irritate teeth because it makes the environment dry and may not be the best option for conditions such as gingivitis. Also alcohol was found to contribute to the development of oral cancer. When used in homemade recipes it may be not as harmful as it is mostly heated during mouthwash preparation and does not remain in the final product. Mouthwash can be made from essential oils as well to be effective. Natural mouthwash may be better than those bought over the counter that contain too much alcohol.

Professional methods to fight dental problems

Often there is not enough time to prepare mouthwashes on your own. Professional mouthwashes can be prepared to fight certain conditions such as periodontitis, sensitive teeth, unpleasant smell, or fighting plaque. Your dentist can indicate which mouthwash is most suitable for us.

Your mouthwash for your own individual needs

We can also make mouthwashes to suit our own individual needs as well. Certain conditions such as canker sore can be alleviated by making a mouthwash with clove oil, water while also adding zinc tablet and folic acid. Clove is also traditionally used for fungal infections and as an antiseptic. Bacteria responsible for bad breath can lead to gingivitis and can be eliminated with clove.

Homemade mouthwash health benefits

Homemade mouthwashes can be more cost-effective while they also provide additional benefits, such as pain-relieving properties. Tooth pain is also relieved by clove that is also used for disinfecting root canal.

Mouthwash recipe

Mouthwash can be prepared from 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of plain soda drink, 4 teaspoons of vegetable glycerine, 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel, and 10 drops of peppermint. After boiling water that is then mixed with soda and glycerine, peppermint should be added and shaken. All needs to be placed in a bottle that is air-tight.
