Blackhead Home Remedies

Blackheads and hygiene

Blackheads are mostly associated with oily skin and acne although those who have normal skin also get them. They form because sebaceous and oil glands produce too much sebum. They also appear more frequently due to hormonal imbalance or high humidity. Their occurrence is also in those spots where oil glands are situated.

Blackheads formation

At first they form as whiteheads. After bacteria and sebum partially open they become blackheads. Blackheads can lead to acne if they are infected with bacteria. They live quite long using skin surface to survive. Environmental pollution along with poor hygiene can aggravate blackheads. Some oil based makeup when used on oil skin can lead to the appearance of blackheads. Oil skin attracts dust easier, and requires treatment. There are ways to cure them and prevent their formation. The best way to prevent their formation is cleansing your skin regularly with creams, gels, or masks that remove bacteria and oil.

It is not recommended to remove them mechanically as it can damage the skin leading to infections.  Blackheads that are removed in this way reappear again after two weeks.
