Planter Fibromas and Uterinos - Symptoms, Causes and Treatment of Fibromas

Fibromas are well-defined, connective tissue tumours composed of connective tissues cells and fibers. They may be single or multiple, soft or hard, sessile or pedunculated, and of varying sizes.

What is Fibromas?

Fibroma is a benign tumor which consists of wholly of fibrous and connective tissues and it may occur any where in the body. Fibroma is a normal term and it is irregular in shape and grows slowly. There are different fibromas such as cardiac fibromas which occur in the heart and some fibromas occur in the mouth of the children. Symptoms of fibromas don’t occur unless they cause pressure.

Causes of Fibromas

There are various fibromas but the causes of most f them is unknown. Some fibromas occur in the mouth because of trauma or irritation.

Symptoms of Fibromas

They are usually flesh-coloured, but may have a reddish-blue hue. They may occur anywhere on the body.

Congenital fibromas usually form a feature of classical neurofibromatosis; acquired ones occur without pigmentation and are less profuse in number.

Nodular subepidermal fibrosis is a fibroma -like nodule usually seen on the legs following trauma.

Treatment for Fibromas

it consists of surgical excision indicated either for cosmetic reason or if the fibroma assumes large proportions.
