Cutaneous Tags is a very common, asymptomatic, harmless, benign problem seen mostly on the neck and axillae in women, less so in obese men, as small, flesh coloured, pin head to lentil-sized, sessile and pedunculated growths.

Cutaneous Tags is a skin disorder which involve small, generally benign skin growths.  It is mostly occurs in the area like neck, armpits, torso, beneath the breasts or in the genital region. It is totally different from skin cancer and never turned in to skin cancer.
This disease occurs as age increases. It is mostly occurs to the people who are above the age of 60 and mostly seen in the women. Its other names are Skin tags; Acrochordons.

Causes of Cutaneous Tags

Cutaneous Tags are common and normally a benign skin growth which is mostly occurs after the age of 60 and most commonly occur to the women. Usually Cutaneous Tags are painless and it never turns into cancer. The tags stick out of the skin, and may have a small narrow stalk connecting the skin bump to the surface of the skin. It is never grow and get changes but irritation may occur because of rubbing of cloths or jewelry. It may occur to the people who are overweight or who have diabetes.

Symptoms of Cutaneous Tags

  • Firstly it is like tiny soft bump on the skin
  • Narrow stalk may occur
  • Mostly occur in the neck, armpits, torso, beneath the breasts or in the genital region.
  • Normally of skin coloured and rarely it is darker

Treatment for Cutaneous Tags

Treatment, if at all necessary, is by surgical execision-snipping with sharp scissors and electro-desiccating the base. Procedure is almost painless and leaves little scarring.
